Job Details

  • The Temporary Community Development Team Manager post is to cover the current post holder’s secondment until the end of 2024. The post involves is managing the Dunfermline Community Development Team, with a focus on youth work, community based adult learning and community capacity building. The post manages and supports all Community Development aspects, including Local Community Planning budget applications and projects, programme management of capital projects including the new facilities about to come on board within the City of Dunfermline. Experience on Community Capacity Building is essential. Community Engagement experience is essential. The post will support the development of the Dunfermline City Plan, and People and Place initiatives. The postholder will link in with Anti-poverty and Community Wealth Building Project manager. The post involves the development and management of strategic and local programmes, working with a range of partners.
  • Salary scale FC9 -£42,686 - £51,302.31 - temporary contract, 36 hours per week, based in Dunfermline City Chambers
  • Home working is an option
  • The role also includes: ·
  • Developing effective working relationships with elected members and key local partners; ·
  • Monitoring and managing a range of area budgets alongside the Community Manager. ·
  • Preparing and reviewing committee reports for decisions relating to devolved budgets and providing regular monitoring report; ·
  • Support the development of neighbourhood plans; · Supporting the local team to plan, monitor, review and evidence their work in line with the Fife CLD Plan.

The Person

Should have experience of: ·

Working in a community learning and development setting; Managing and developing a cohesive staff team;

Meeting the needs of the local community using a clear evidence model; ·

A sound knowledge of anti-poverty and prevention and early intervention;

Effectively engaging with communities using a variety of methods and tools such as the place standard tool and participatory budgeting.

The post holder should be Educated to SCQF level 9, which includes a Degree or equivalent It is desirable that applicants have: · Community Learning and Development degree or equivalent qualification Membership of Community Learning and Development Standards Council

  • A driving licence can only be specified if intrinsic to the job. Ability to travel within Fife will be appropriate for many posts
