Job Description
We're looking for a Driver Manager to cover our depots across Yorkshire and the North East. You will be responsible for driving the day-to-day operational success of our bus services at specific depots where support is needed. The successful candidate will demonstrate effective leadership, promote our company values, and actively contribute to an inclusive working environment.
For this role, you can be based in either the North East or Yorkshire.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the effective implementation of the Company Health and Safety Policy.
- Comply with all statutory obligations and oversee detailed responsibilities outlined in the Arriva HS&E Management System.
- Ensure excellent service delivery in accordance with stakeholder requirements and company policies.
- Build and maintain business relationships critical to local performance, including partnerships with Local Authorities.
- Address complaints in a timely manner, conducting thorough investigations and implementing preventive actions.
- Develop an organizational culture that embodies Arriva's values and promotes Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (ED&I).
- Lead, manage, and motivate colleagues to maximize contribution and collaboration.
- Foster high-performing teams through effective leadership and communication forums.
- Lead the delivery of outstanding service delivery and operational compliance.
- Collaborate with commercial teams to review networks and customer feedback for continuous improvement.
- Work with recruitment and training teams to optimize the operational delivery process.
- Contribute to the development of annual budgets and business plans.
- Focus on value-adding activities to maximize revenue and control operating costs.
- Review financial performance against budget and identify action plans for improvement.
- Continuously review operations, identifying areas for substantial improvement and innovation.
- Act as a Change Agent, making decisions that enhance the business and drive operational excellence.
- Collaborate with peers to share best practices throughout the organization.
Essential Requirements
You will need to have experience of running an operation, ideally across multiple sites. You will have a proven track record of P&L ownership and leading and developing high performing teams.
As this is an area role, you will need to be comfortable with travelling across the region as / when needed. Experience within the Bus or Transport sector would be preferred, although not essential.

Salary: £35,000.00-£41,000.00 per year
