Due to our UK expansion plans, we have an exciting opportunity for Area Manager to join Søstrene Grene's management team. This is a dynamic and varied job in a beautiful environment.

Job Description

As an Area Manager for Store Openings at Søstrene Grene, you will play a pivotal role in the expansion and success of our brand. This position demands a seasoned professional with robust people and project management skills, dedicated to ensuring the timely and successful opening of new stores while managing a dynamic pipeline of upcoming locations.
The Area Manager for Store Openings will be responsible for overseeing the entire process of opening new stores within our Group. This role requires a hands-on approach, strong project management skills, and the ability to lead and inspire teams.

  • Take full ownership of the store opening process, including pre-planning, overseeing schedules, and ensuring adherence to timelines.
  • Leading new teams for store openings.
  • Full ownership of the store opening checklist/s ensuring all tasks are completed on time.
  • Oversee the entire store opening process, ensuring timelines are met and obstacles are proactively addressed.
  • Making sure all staff health and safety protocols are being followed throughout the store builds.
  • Manage a comprehensive pipeline of new stores, coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure seamless execution.
  • Lead by example with a hands-on approach, actively engaging in the store opening process to address challenges and facilitate smooth operations.
  • Take charge of unforeseen issues and adapt strategies to maintain the progress of store openings.
  • Manage training schedules for new teams, ensuring that staff is are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary for a successful store launch.
  • Conduct on-site training workshops, fostering a positive and collaborative team culture.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including construction, merchandising, and operations, to align efforts and resources towards successful store openings.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external partners to ensure a unified approach to each store launch.
  • Implement metrics and key performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of store opening processes.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement strategic enhancements to optimize future store opening operations.
  • Develop and execute detailed project plans for store openings.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team culture among store opening teams.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of new stores to identify areas for improvement.
  • Serve as a liaison between store opening teams and headquarters.
  • Communicate regularly with key stakeholders to provide updates on store opening progress.
  • During any delays in store openings, and/or when we reach our target stores, you will form part of the area management team of existing store, reporting directly to the Operations Manager.

The Successful Applicant

  • Previous experience with expanding a brand in UK or opening new stores will be a strong advantage.
  • 2 years minimum at area management level in a fast-paced, busy retail environment.
  • Must have a proven strong understanding of retail, staff rotas, merchandising, store standards, operational standards.
  • Proficient in MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • IT proficient and able to quickly learn in house systems and use company apps.
  • Must be highly organised, structured & solutions oriented.
  • Must be able to work independently and lead a team.
  • Must be energetic and enthusiastic with a can-do attitude.
  • Must be comfortable working in a very fast-paced, productive environment.
  • Have expertise in retail operational standards.
  • Requires frequent travel throughout the UK so must be able and willing to travel.
