Opus are thrilled to be representing a world leader in the manufacturing market who are looking to appoint a Area Sales Manager to join their team. The role will be a remote based role when not visiting clients. This includes regular national travel, and travel to Europe. You will be joining an award winning worldwide business who are well respected in their field.
Our client manufacturers their products and works with a network of distributors, who distribute their products. They have continued investment in its domestic and international distribution network and are keen to continue the development of its global network. This role has arisen for the successful candidate to help support this growth, and further build on the success. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing an existing distributor network as well as identifying new opportunities for projects and finding, appointing, training and developing new distributors in the network to ensure targets are achieved.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Find, appoint, train, motivate and monitor new distributors for the company's products
- Create and manage an effective distribution channel that meets the vision and values
- Managing correct levels of pricing and margins
- Liaise with distributors, customers and the company's departments to ensure correct specifications are obtained
- Carry out negotiations where required
- Regularly reporting on any sales activity
- Supporting the directors in preparation for annual reports and budgets
- Produce high quality sales and marketing forecasts
- Develop strong relationships with distributor network, growing the network further
Essential skills:
- Proven work experience gained within an external sales role in a multicultural and international business
- Proven experience working within a manufacturing/production business
- Experience of working with a distributor sales network
- Strong work ethic with a willingness to undertake extensive national and international travel
Advantageous skills:
- Second language would be beneficial
- A degree is not essential, but would be advantageous
