- Hourly Rate: £14.50 (PAYE)

- Job Type: Full-time, Temporary (6 months with potential for extension)
- Working Hours: 37 - 40 hours per week across 7 days (Weekend work mandatory)
We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Area Supervisor to oversee operations at our Recycling and Household Waste Sites (RHWS) and Waste Transfer Stations (WTS). This role is field-based and requires a candidate with strong supervisory skills, good IT literacy, and the ability to manage multiple staff and deliver training effectively.
Day to Day of the role:- Travel to various RHWSs and WTSs to supervise site staff and ensure smooth operations.
- Conduct HR-related tasks, including supporting the onboarding process, one-to-ones, and policy discussions.
- Deliver training through workbooks and e-learning, develop toolbox talks, and other safety briefings.
- Monitor and enforce safe systems of work and risk assessments.
- Ensure accurate records for waste movements and adherence to the Council’s Quality Management System.
- Issue, monitor, and record PPE and uniforms to staff.
- Occasionally drive a Council 3.5 tonne box van.
- Handle low-level customer complaints in person, via telephone, and email.
- Good IT, interpersonal, numeracy, and literacy skills.
- Experience in customer service and line managing staff.
- Experience in delivering training packages.
- Valid UK driver’s licence for up to a 3.5 tonne vehicle, access to own vehicle, and business use insurance.
- Competitive hourly rate with potential for negotiation based on experience and qualifications.
- Mileage and expenses claimable in line with policies.
- Provision of PPE and potential uniform requirements.
