Job description

The role will involve assessing and monitoring learners undertaking an Engineering Diploma and BTEC. You will check progression during regular learner visits at the workplace of the learner across various military sites in Scotland. You will invigilate tests in order for the learner to achieve the full Engineering Qualifications as part of their Apprenticeship.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Spending 3 to 4 days a week travelling to visit learners in the workplace, the rest of the week can be worked from home (Hybrid role)
  • Setting and reviewing training objectives, mentoring, assessment and verification of Functional Skills
  • Invigilating tests for Vocational qualifications in Engineering at level 2/3 .
  • Attend "sign up" presentations and carry out post course evaluation sessions
  • Keep all documentation up to date using the online portfolios

This role would suit an Armourer with high level of experience and some prior coaching or mentoring experience who would relish the challenge of a new job in a training role. We are looking for candidates with the following:

  • Someone with imagination, innovation and creative problem solving techniques
  • A clear proactive approach to planning
  • Someone who encourages and supports others to give their best; understands how different people are motivated and acts accordingly
  • Excellent IT Skills
  • Industry related qualifications such as Diplomas, BTECs minimum level 3
  • Military experience is desirable
  • A Teaching/Assessing/Training qualification is desirable
