Job Title: Asbestos Lab ManagerLocation: Halifax, West Yorkshire Salary / Benefits £22k - £30k + Training + BenefitsWe are working with a longstanding Asbestos Consultancy based in the Yorkshire region. Due internal growth, they are now looking to recruit an Asbestos Lab Manager. This role will suit a candidate who has a strong background working as a Lab Analyst for a busy UKAS accredited consultancy, providing excellent training to new starters, while overseeing analysts, ensuring work is carried out in line with relevant HSG / UKAS legislations. For this role, our client would consider an Asbestos Lab Analyst looking to take a step forward in their career. Consideration will be given to candidates from: Leeds, Bradford, Pudsey, Huddersfield, Dewsbury, Batley, Wakefield, Keighley, Castleford, Pontefract, Barnsley, Otley, Wetherby.Experience & Qualifications: " Must hold the BOHS P401 qualification." Experience supervising / managing an Asbestos Laboratory is essential to the role. " Excellent understanding of UKAS / HSG legislations. " Will be IT literate, and confident in using industry relevant systems. (TEAMS / TRAKCER)" Ability to work well under pressure and comply with agreed timescales.The Role:" Overseeing and managing a team of laboratory analysts. " Carrying out training with new employees. " Preparing for UKAS visits and maintaining accreditations. " Ensuring safe working practices are carried out and the laboratory is clean. " Logging samples upon arrival to the laboratory and preparing for analysis. " Using PLM and stereo microscopy to carry out analysis of asbestos samples. " Ensuring work complies with UKAS standards and HSG guidelines. " Ensuring lab equipment is correctly calibrated." Checking stock and placing orders when required. " Organising waste removal efficiently. " Completing job sheets efficiently. " Liasing with clients in a professional manner. " Routinely liaising with the quality manager.
