Asbestos Laboratory Analyst

Job Title: Asbestos Lab Analyst.
Location: Basildon, Essex.
Salary / Benefits 22k - 30k + Training + Benefits
We have an exciting opportunity for a BOHS P401 qualified Asbestos Lab Analyst to join an industry leading Asbestos Consultancy. You will be joining their longstanding team of Lab Analysts, in their Essex office. You will be responsible for ensuring all samples are booked into the laboratory upon arrival, undertaking analysis using PLM and stereo microscopy and producing reports based on analytical findings. For the successful candidate, our client can offer training into further P cert modules, company pension scheme, and an excellent holiday package.
Consideration will be given to candidates from: Billericay, Rayleigh, Wickford, South Benfleet, Canvey Island, Stanford-le-Hope, Grays, Tilbury, Dartford, Southend-on-Sea, Rochford, Hockley.
Experience & Qualifications:
" (Mandatory) BOHS P401.
" (Beneficial) BOHS P403.
" Previous / present experience working in a laboratory environment for a UKAS accredited Asbestos company.
" IT literate.
" Will have a keen eye for detail and excellent organisational skills.
" Able to work well under pressure.
" Will be able to work well individually and as a team.
" Will have professional communication skills.
The Role:
" Booking in samples received from site and preparing for analysis.
" Carrying out sample analysis using PLM and stereo microscopy.
" Producing reports of analytical findings.
" Carrying out routine quality checks.
" Ensuring safe working procedures in the laboratory, ensuring the laboratory is tidy.
" Calibrating equipment when necessary.
" Getting involved in the internal QC programme.
" Ensuring you are working in line with current Health & Safety regulations.
" Providing clients with technical support when required.
