About the Role: We are seeking a dynamic Asphalt & Recycling Manager for our Mansfield plant. Reporting to the Area Operations Manager, this role is pivotal in driving our commitment to sustainability and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead efforts in reducing and reusing waste to meet environmental standards.
- Foster and maintain relationships with all stakeholders.
- Manage compliance with ISO 9001 & 14001 standards and oversee safety training and compliance for all plant activities.
- Oversee the training of personnel, including the operation of equipment and machinery.
- Prioritize site health and safety, ensuring standards are always upheld.
- Handle management of KPIs, budgets, and targets specifically related to recycling.
- Drive continuous improvement across site practices and maintain effective maintenance schedules.
What We’re Looking For:
- Transferable experience managing high-performing teams in operational environments.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, capable of nurturing a collaborative team atmosphere.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to balance detailed-oriented work with meeting commercial demands.
- Experience in employee relations including performance management, recruitment, and training.
- IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office suite.
- A valid, clean UK driving license; occasional travel required.
- Qualifications in QCF Level 4 or similar, or the ambition to achieve this.
Desirable but Not Essential:
- Background in recycling management, potentially holding or pursuing WAMITAB certification.
