Assembly / Mechanical Fitter

Sayjo Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a client, for a skilled

Assembly Fitter / Mechanical Fitter.

Our client is looking to expand its highly skilled assembly/fitter team. The ideal candidate will be a skilled Mechanical Fitter. The main focus of this role is to build high quality filling and packaging equipment, for their customers worldwide. This will include, but is not restricted to, building sub-assemblies in line with production requirements, assisting with the build of full production lines / systems, testing and quality checking prior to delivery. Opportunities to follow equipment on to site for the installation are also available.

Skills and Experience:  

• Top level fitting and assembly skills 
• Mechanical fitting and assembly of mechanical components such as:
  • Precision machined parts in various materials
  • Ball Screws / Lead Screws / Belt / Pulleys / Chain Drives
  • Linear Slides
  • Conveyors / Motors / Gearboxes
  • Pipe Fitting (small diameter - below 2" Bore)
  • Valves / Nozzles
  • Pneumatics / Hydraulics
• Skilled use of hand tools for precision work 
• Able to use turning and milling machines
• Able to read and interpret CAD drawings 
• Hold a recognised qualification as a minimum NVQ Level 2 and served a full mechanical apprenticeship 
• Understanding of how to work to quality procedures – work procedures/checklists 
• Be aware of safety issues 
• Be capable of reporting verbally and in writing 
• Have good health and level of general fitness 
• Hold a full clean car driving licence 
• FLT / First aid certificates would be an advantage but not essential.

Package

Circa £31k depending on skills and experience

30% increment for site work

Company contributory pension.

25 days holiday – plus statutory bank holidays

Work hours

• Monday-Thursday 07.00–16.00 (15 min tea break / 30 min lunch)
• Friday 07.00-13.00 (15 min tea break)
