About the role:

This position is the perfect entry point into the training and teaching sector. You need to be an RTITB forklift instructor and be competent in assessing learners work. As a member of our team, you may occasionally be required to work evenings and weekends, adding variety and flexibility to your role.

The primary purpose of this job role is to:

1: Facilitate the acquisition of skills and knowledge by the learners through instruction, demonstration and supervision within the learning environment

2: Design, develop and maintain teaching resources to ensure the best experience for the learners.

3: Maintain safe working practices and a safe environment for the learners

The primary duties, tasks and responsibilities of this job role are to;

1: Provide demonstration, instruction and training to learners to aid them in the acquisition of high quality and relevant industrial skills

2: Undertake the necessary lesson preparation as required to enable the delivery of item 1 above

3: Assess learner s skills to set/awarding body criteria

4: Contribute to the development of the curriculum to ensure the most up to date skills and techniques are being taught. With others, produce schemes and programmes of practical work which ensure topics are covered in a logical sequence

5: Carry out daily and monthly health and safety checks on equipment and training facilities.

6: Ensure you, the learners and visitors to the area are working in a safe manner, and in a safe working environment

7: Keep accurate and up to date information on learner progress and assessment decisions

8: Attend relevant faculty and team meetings and provide feedback as necessary on learner performance

9: Contribute to the continual improvement of the programme area and faculty

10: Maintain a professional personal appearance, and ensure all students, stakeholders and visitors are treated in a professional manner

11: Undertake technical and maintenance duties as required which include, but not restricted to; stock ordering, maintaining equipment, training facility housekeeping and development of teaching/training resources

12: Assist with the recruitment of students through attendance at open days and other promotional events, and discussing course content to potential learners.

13: Continue to develop own skills and knowledge through attendance at relevant training and CDP events.
