As an Asset Information System Specialist at HS2 you will be responsible for supporting HS2 in the form of Asset Information System administration and related system configuration activities. You will be working within the Digital Engineering team supporting delivery functions and interfacing with the Asset Information Team, System Supplier end users and other technical teams with a particular focus on Asset Information data, GIS, CAD. The role will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Asset Information System configuration, supporting system integration, data and reporting functions to ensure effective asset data management and compliance of data quality & assurance processes.
About the role:
- Responsible for management of the configuration of the Asset information Management System, HS2’s asset register and maintaining quality system configuration documentation and keeping it up to date and ensuring that an effective data management plan is developed, implemented, and regularly reviewed to ensure data security, integrity, quality, and auditability.
- Responsible for resolving technical queries, issues, assisting users and updating user guides to keep them up to date with system changes.
- Responsible for monitoring system performance, analysis of reported or potential issues, managing and raising support calls with the system vendor.
- Responsible for producing requirements specification for system development/enhancement.
- Responsible for coordinating with software vendors to be fully compatible with HS2 requirements, specification and standards.
- Responsible for integration and reporting, new and updated Asset Information software acceptance testing, to ensure the releases meet requirements along with providing support where required.
- Responsible for compliance with Digital Engineering standards, specifications and operating procedures within HS2 and Suppliers.
- Responsible for developing and delivering training and support to relevant HS2 business functions, Delivery Teams and our Suppliers regarding HS2 standards, specifications, tools and operating procedures.
- Responsible for promoting and providing upskilling material for HS2’s Digital Engineering upskilling platform and delivering presentations to internal and external audiences on relevant system functionality.
- Responsible for identifying areas for system improvement and feedback into information requirements, specification development and standards creation.
- Contribute to the management of the HS2’s Common Data Environment and governance of information, with a particular focus system configuration.
- Enable integration and interaction of the Asset Information Management System into with other CDE systems.
- Contribute, when required, to undertake transformation of data for other functional uses within HS2 and facilitating appropriate data assurance and approval by others.
- Support and undertake asset data loading, extraction and cleansing when required.
- Contribute to the delivery of the Digital Engineering programme. This could include but is not limited to, benefits realisation, integration and evolution of data standards and tools, and raising awareness of HS2’s Digital Engineering strategic goals within HS2, Supply Chain and external stakeholders.

Experience
- Data management, and data quality & assurance experience throughout the entire project lifecycle.
- Experience of working with open formats to enable data interoperability and encourage a software agnostic approach.
- Experience of Asset Information System Management preferably for rail or other asset intensive infrastructure environments
- Experience of working within set standards, processes and systems but with an expectation to contribute to decision making on process improvement.
