Plas Menai is the National Outdoor Centre for Wales and is situated on the banks of the Menai Straits, a stone’s throw from Snowdonia National Park and the stunning coastline of Anglesey and the Lleyn Peninsular. The Centre has been delivering a range of Instructor, Technical Courses as well as a wide range adventurous activities for over 40 years.

How you'll contribute

We are looking for an experienced Asset & Maintenance Manager to join the team to lead & manage maintenance works at Plas Menai, specifying, procuring and managing contracts and contractors as required.

You will lead on the organisation and management of Building & Equipment Health & Safety and statutory compliance maintaining full records, certification and compliance details as requiredYou will be responsible for the daily effective running of the site's plant rooms and oversight of the equipment officer ensuring day to day maintenance is carried out in the context of ensuring the best possible lifecycle and customer outcomes for the building and the equipment.

Who you'll work with

You will work alongside and support all departments across the Centre, to ensure that building maintenance issues are dealt with in an appropriate time frame.

Manage the Equipment Maintenance staff ensuring the repair, maintenance and replacement of equipment is carried out in accordance with centre needs and remains within budget.

You will work closely with the Corporate PPM Team, Energy Manager and Energy Project Manager to oversee energy efficiency initiatives and programmes implementing and managing changes to plant, equipment and centre practices and procedures as required

Reporting into the Head of Operations, you will also be a member of the Centre Management Team.

What you'll need

We are looking for an experienced manager, who can still take on minor repairs and ground works as well as manage the compliance and asset management work.

The post holder will preferably hold 18th Edition electrical qualification, City + Guilds 2381 – 01 or equivalent qualification and have good experience of or working knowledge of pool filtration and air conditioning.

A Flexible approach to work adapting to the needs of the Centre - this may involve being on call or working evenings and the occasional weekend.
