Assistant Academic Manager- Online PSE

INTO IUP are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Assistant Academic Manager to join the Online Academic team and work as a key member of the Pre-sessional English management team to oversee the delivery of first class academic for all international Online Pre-sessional students with a view to securing the very best possible progression outcomes.
As the Assistant Academic Manager, you will assist with managing in the most efficient and effective way the allocation of students and teaching resource in line with IUP’s commercial imperatives and the corresponding programme objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will assist with and lead aspects of the external exam board process, ensuring quality and standards remain high priority.
- Be responsible for overseeing the production of required assessments to the appropriate standards.
- Assist with ensuring that marking and collation of marks are completed against agreed deadlines in the most effective and efficient way and to the required quality standards.
- Supervise the provision of cover for absent colleagues in areas of the curriculum for which you have responsibility
- Work with the Programme Manager to inspire and motivate staff to deliver high quality performance in all areas.
- Manage a small teaching team, holding regular meetings and observe lessons as part of onboarding or by request of the programme manager.
- Provide teaching cover for a fixed duration or for teacher absences.
- Provide support for students regarding academic guidance and student discipline to enable students to be able to make the most informed choices.
- Ensure that, as far as is possible, students are adequately prepared to pursue their chosen career or university course.
About You:
Ÿ You will have an undergraduate degree in a relevant subject, or equivalent, supported by a relevant teaching qualification, e.g. PGCE.
Ÿ A recognised advanced teaching qualification (or working towards) (eg. DELTA or equivalent).
Ÿ An excellent record of teaching, including online delivery.
The position is based as a working from home mode, however space at the Brighton office may be organised if needed.
