Assistant Buyer / Materials Planner

Are you looking for a varied, hands-on role, covering a wide range of tasks within Supply Chain?

It’s not a typical Materials Planner or Buyer role – it will bring variety every day, including elements of Stock Control, Materials Planning and assisting with Purchasing.
Hours of Work:
Mon – Fri 8am – 5pm (on-site)

Job Responsibilities
- Work closely with Goods in, Despatch and Production and Technical departments to efficiently manage stock levels and plan materials to meet demand
- Ensuring materials are handled efficiently to avoid any potential waste
- Review daily/weekly/monthly production plans to keep the business within targeted stock levels
- Build relationships and negotiate pricing with suppliers
- Assist with stock counts
Personal Specification:
- Proven experience in supply chain, logistics or similar role within a FMCG manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in Excel and Sage (or similar).
- Strong knowledge of supply chain principles and practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to negotiate with suppliers and build strong relationships.
