What you'll do

 

Working as part of one of our category teams and reporting into the Category Manager, you will be responsible for supporting strategic procurement operations and assist in the delivery of category strategies. This is an excellent opportunity to learn, develop and play a critical role in ensuring procurement delivers against key business objectives which will enable the transition to a cleaner and greener future. 

 

•    Category strategy development support – Contribute to the development of categories through meaningful market research, analysing opportunities and risks and effective forward planning and forecasting.
•    Strategic Sourcing/Tender events – Support multiple strategic sourcing events from market engagement through to award, ensuring the best possible solutions for National Grid.
•    Stakeholder/Supplier engagement – Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders and collaborate to help drive improvements across cost, delivery, and quality. 
 

What we're looking for

 

We’re looking for people who can demonstrate creativity and commercial acumen whilst identifying opportunities to drive value and deliver our net zero ambition and have a passion to grow yourself and our business.  Someone who:


•    Can confidently communicate and engage with stakeholders, building effective working relationships at all levels 
•    Has effective project and time management skills 
•    Enjoys problem solving and is proactive with a desire to learn
•    Can collate and organise data, analyse commercial issues and provide insights 
•    Has a passion for enabling an affordable net zero future and keen to make a difference

A competitive salary ranging from £37,109 - £41,475 (Reviewed annually) dependent on capability and experience.

Locations and Flexible Working

 

As part of our hybrid working approach where colleagues work flexibly, these roles offer a mix of office working in Warwick and home working. Other office working locations; London, Castle Donnington and Bristol can also be accommodated.
