The Role
This position will provide support to Policy Specialists and the wider team with CNSS to help identify and deliver changes with the future of flight programme. The role will also provide support when engaging with international bodies and external service providers.
The Assistant CNS(S) Policy Specialist will play an instrumental part in the development and improvement of existing future flight policy whilst also having the opportunity to seek guidance from area specialists within the CAA to help grow their capabilities within the CNS(S) space.
About You
Minimum essential requirements for the role:
- Have the ability to absorb and digest complex technical information and to provide suitable updates and briefs to fellow technical and non-technical colleagues.
- Have a proven ability to communicate effectively at working level internally with CAA colleagues, and externally with industry stakeholders.
- Possess high levels of commitment, reliability and flexibility, and be an excellent team worker with sound interpersonal skills.
- Have the ability to work with minimum supervision, be pro-active and possess strong time management and project management skills to meet demanding deadlines.
- Possess good verbal and written communication skills.
- Possess good organisational discipline and the ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplined team.
- Have sound understanding and experience of MS Office.
- Possess an understanding of CNS system concepts and broader technologies in the RF domain.
- Educated to degree level in an engineering discipline or hold an equivalent experience
Desirable skills for the role:
- Have some knowledge of European and International institutions and their working arrangements.
- Have an understanding of the UKs Airspace Modernisation Strategy and related aims and objectives.
- Understand the CAA, its structure and its working practice and procedures.
- Appreciate the roll of NATS and other ANSPs and their structures related to Airspace modernisation.
- Obtain a understanding of aviation operations and the broad range of sector participants
- Demonstrate good knowledge of the wider UK aviation industry.
