We are currently recruiting an Assistant Cook to join our team at Colleg Gwent, Cross Keys Campus, Risca Road, Newport, NP11 7ZA

• £11.44 per hour
• Part time – 30 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 7.30am - 2pm

What you'll be doing

• Assisting Chef Manager in preperation and production of breakfast and lunch
• Serving and till operation
• Setting up workstations with all needed ingredients and equipment
• Ensure food is correctly stored according to food safety policies and guidelines
• Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment and utensils
• Use a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables and other food
• Present and garnish food and portions according to guidelines
• Provide excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards guests, customers and co workers
• Assisting in the compilation of all shift opening and closing checklists

Experience

• NVQ in catering is desired but not essential
• Previous cooking experience
• DBS checks required
• E learning is available through our online learning system to obtain Food Safety Level 2/3 certificate
