By providing excellent care and services to both clients and children, we have ensured the successful growth of the company and to keep up with the rapid pace of this growth, we are now looking for an experienced Assistant Cook to join the team.
The role:
Are you currently a Catering Assistant looking for the next step up? Join us at Percy Shurmer Academy, where you will be given full training to support you into the role of Deputy Cook.
As an Assistant Cook, you will be assisting with the preparation and delivery of a healthy, nutritious and fun menu for the students and staff. You will focus on delivering the highest quality of food and service along with having the flair, originality and the ability to make this one of the best catering offers in the area.
Your responsibilities will include:
Preparation of the menu, using the recipes provided
Ensuring Food Hygiene, Allergen and Health and Safety compliance
Building relationships with both the client and customers
Providing a friendly and polite customer service experience for all
About you
We need someone who shares our passion for delivering exceptional food and service to our schools along with the following skills and experience:
Ideally you will have some knowledge of education catering
You have Food Hygiene level 2 (further training will be available)
You have good knowledge of health and safety practices
You’re motivated, able to use your own initiative, and have a desire to learn

This role is:
30 hours per week – with no late nights
Working 39 weeks per year based around term time – what could you do with all that time off?
£12 per hour
