An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, enthusiastic and motivated manager to join our busy Directorate team. The band 7 post will be based at the Royal Gwent Hospital covering Cardiology Services. This is a great post with scope to develop managerially and increase your operational management skills. You will be supported in your development by the Clinical Directors, Senior Nurses and Directorate Manager.
Main responsibilities:
To support the Directorate Manager in the management and delivery of high quality, clinically effective and cost-efficient services for clinical services within the Directorates.
To support the Directorate Manager in all aspects of business and service management, in order to achieve the activity levels, quality and performance standards of the Directorate.
To have delegated management responsibilities for the service in the absence of the Directorate Manager.
To support best practice in relation to the management of personnel, finance, procurement, performance and governance.
To be responsible for taking the lead for a defined area of clinical services and performance by the Directorate Manager.
To support the Directorate Manager in developing and implementing modernisation strategies to meet national and local healthcare agendas.
As part of the Directorate management team, the post holder will contribute fully to the overall management and development of clinical services within the Unscheduled Care Division.
We are looking for an individual who has excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills to join the directorate team. The successful candidate will be expected to liaise with Managers, Clinicians, Patients and Staff from across all disciplines. You must demonstrate initiative and have an enthusiasm to get the job done. The successful candidate will also need to have RTT management, a comprehensive range of IT skills and an understanding of how the healthcare systems and departments function.
Effective staff management is a fundamental part of this role. Experience of change management processes and a high degree of political awareness is essential.
The post holder will provide all aspects of operational management support within the Directorates, playing a key role in the planning and delivery of a quality service as part of the Clinical Futures Strategy.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate inspirational leadership and have evidence of previous experience in improving services across the Health Board.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
