Assistant Engineering Stores Manager

Express Recruitment are proud to be working with a well-established industrial equipment supplier based in the heart of Derbyshire. Due to continued success and growth in their field, our client is seeking an Assistant Stores Manager to bolster their inventory department.  

This role is full time, working Monday to Thursday (8am to 5:00pm) with an early finish on Friday (8am to 2:30pm). 

In return, you will receive a starting salary of up to £29,000 per annum plus benefits.  

Role & Responsibilities

• Report directly to Stores Manager to collaborate on various projects and provide consistent reports and updates on stock levels and quality  
• Oversee the day to day running of the stores, coordinating workload priorities for the wider stores team 
• Perform weekly/monthly stock reports, highlighting any concerning issues or discrepancies in stock levels 
• Operate forklift to transport goods safely across the shopfloor and maintain a clean and tidy working environment 
• Manage correspondence from suppliers and department management, scheduling goods in deliveries and daily dispatch slots  
• Inspect goods upon delivery and ensure they are implemented onto the online inventory system correctly 
• Assist with the Stores Manager in performance reviews, interviews, and staff inductions 
• Ensure strict Health & Safety standards are adhered to all times  

Skills & Experience

• Demonstrable experience working in a fast-paced stores environment  
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team 
• Capable of working under pressure to achieve KPI targets  
• First class communication skills with a keen eye for detail 
• Holder of a formal forklift licence desirable (Counterbalance/Reach) 
• Ability to use MS Office packages, particularly Excel spreadsheets 
• Proficient with ERP/MRP systems advantageous
