Introduction:
My clients Groundworks Division has organically grown into a significant facet within the organization, with the capacity to manage a diverse portfolio of projects ranging from 40 to 350+ plot multi-phased developments. They undertake projects for both public and private sectors, with a strong emphasis on preferred supplier agreements with national housebuilders in Yorkshire and Northeastern England, spanning over four decades.
Position Overview:
They are currently seeking an Assistant Estimator/Quantity Surveyor to join the team and provide essential commercial support. This role offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute to all facets of estimating, tendering, and commercial management within our Groundworks and Civil Engineering projects, primarily focused on the Housing, Commercial, and Industrial sectors.

Day To Day Responsibilities:
Assist in estimating and tendering processes for projects.
Support all commercial aspects from tender stage to project completion.
Measure and value work, allocate labour and procure materials.
Maintain control over procurement, labour, and subcontractors.
Act as a key liaison between production teams and clients.
Liaise with client commercial teams and attend site meetings.
Prepare subcontract enquiries and assess quotations.
Identify and manage variations to contracts.
Prepare and submit invoices and final accounts.
Build and maintain client relationships.
Pursue new tender opportunities through business development.
Requirements:
Strong knowledge of quantity surveying and estimating, preferably in large-scale Housing developments
Ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced project environments.
Proficiency in forms of contract, especially JCT contract range
Experience with estimating software and documentation (Excel, Adobe, Bluebeam)
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
Responsive to external and internal demands
Demonstrated commercial awareness.
