Job Description
A studio based role, supporting the Design and Development team’s function with regards to fabric and trim development. This role reports into the Fabric & Trim Development Manager.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist the Fabric Development Manager on fabric development through to production sign off.
• Assist the Fabric & Trim development Co-ordinator on trim development through to production sign off.
• Manage the Fabric Development intern and support the Fabric & Trim manger in this roles recruitment.
• Manage the sourcing and development of linings across all collections to be within the required design brief, performance, price and leadtime parameters.
• Manage the development and ordering of seasonal mother of pearl buttons.
• Resolve any pre-production issues on linings and MOP buttons.
• Manage the lining and MOP development critical path to ensure sampling orders are delivered in a timely manner.
• Daily communication with suppliers re. ongoing developments.
• Creation and maintenance of seasonal lining chart for product development team.
• Creation and maintenance of seasonal fabric and print presentation boards.
• Maintain the lining budget tracker and keep within budget parameters. Check and approve invoices for orders placed in a timely manner.
• Collate prices and full production information for all seasonal linings.
• Input all lining information accurately into Zedonk.
• Sourcing of new seasonal and maintaining atelier stock of core toiling fabrics.
• Liaise with the atelier on new fabrics required for in-house testing.
• Stock take seasonal sample fabrics ready for production handover.
• Create seasonal production fabric handover book.
• Create seasonal fabric swatch sales books.
• Create courier labels for required shipments.
• Maintain the in-house Erdem seasonal fabric development archive.
• General studio up-keep and organising; ensuring the studio and Fabric & Trim Development areas are clean and tidy.
• Attend local fabric and trim fairs to aid learning and supplier contact.
• Full participation in our main collection show activities at London Fashion Week. Requirements:
• Degree level or similar in fashion or textiles.
• 3 years experience working within luxury raw materials.
• Zedonk / PLM / PDM experience + MS office skills
• Hands on can-do attitude with an exceptional work ethic
• Highly organized, able to work independently and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable and eager to learn.
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to think on their feet with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Team player and must have a passion for fabric and trims development
