Chase & Holland are excited to be working with a family orientated manufacturing business based in Scunthorpe who are seeking a hands on Assistant Factory Manager to join their management team.
As Assistant Factory Manager, you will be a key part of the management and decision-making process for the factory operation and support the UK Factory Manager in the day to day running of the business. This is a newly created role that will suit someone with a background in leading teams within a fast paced manufacturing environment using Lean practices.

Assistant Factory Manager Responsibilities:
- To deputise for the Factory Manager as required
- Apply knowledge of new trends in manufacturing, quality, and Health & Safety to maintain a high level of efficiency
- Attend meetings as necessary with the parent company, customers, and suppliers
- Be an integral part of the procurement process and assist and develop cost control measures for the whole factory process
- Ensure the factory is performing within expected parameters to ensure product quality and availability is maintained
- Conduct customer and external audits as part of the team, demonstrating high standards
- Monitor KPIs and set targets for the factory process
- Maintain quality standards throughout the factory and ensure best practice for manufacturing is followed
- Identify areas to develop and coach the existing and team and communicate expectations
- Authorise annual leave and monitor absence
- Assist in the disciplinary process as required
- Oversee Inventory levels and monitor against the business needs
Working Hours – 7am – 3pm Monday to Friday
Required Skills & Experience:
- Solid IT skills including Excel
- To be Health & Safety trained preferably IOSH
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Understand a quality system and HACCP principles and their implementation in the factory environment
- Good organisational skills and an ability to delegate
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills
