We are currently recruiting for an experienced Assistant Finance Managerfor a well-established forward-thinking client in the Swindon area. You will undertake specific operational finance tasks to support and to ensure the efficient and effective use of the organisations budget, ensuring compliance with the organisations financial policies. This is a full time permanent position.
Main Duties:
- To provide assistance for the Finance Manager across a range of activities as requested.
- To work as part of the finance team to ensure full financial compliance in line with agreed Trust financial policies and working practices.
- To provide general finance guidance for team members or associated areas (bursary, nursery, boarding, sports) as required so that standard finance activities can be completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Key responsibilities including completion, with other Assistant Finance Mangers (AFMs), of the following:
- Bank Reconciliations monthly across the Trust as part of the month end process.
- Credit Card Reconciliations monthly across the Trust as part of the month end process.
- Equals Card Reconciliations monthly across the Trust, in a timely fashion.
- Posting Government and Local Authority Income across the Trust.
- New Supplier set up across the Trust – completing self- employed/company status checks, collating relevant documentation and setting up new Suppliers on the finance system.
- Raising monthly Sales invoices for School lettings, etc.
- Trip Reconciliations of ‘completed’ trips across the Trust.
- Bursary Reconciliations across the Schools and, assistance with queries as and when required.
- Assist Finance Manager with the reconciliation of Debtors and Creditors across the Trust and liaise with Schools regarding Debt management and recovery.
- Assist Finance Manager with the reconciliation of Payroll, VAT and other Balance Sheet items as and when required.
- Responsible for adherence to financial regulations and audit requirements and advising on the application of these.
- Communicates a range of financial information both verbally and in writing with the Finance manager and other staff.
- Supervision & management: Day to day liaison with the Finance Manager and network liaison with other Assistant Finance Managers.
- Resources responsibility: Oversees all aspects of each school’s day to day operational transactions.
The ideal candidate will be AAT level 3 qualified or qualified by experience, have a good amount of reconciliation experience, a high level of computer and numerical literacy, including packages such as Excel and Word. There will be study support provided to the successful candidate so they can develop their skills further for future progression within the organisation.
