As an Assistant Flood Investigation Officer, you will play a key role in identifying ways to reduce flood risk for the people of Suffolk by:

• supporting the team to collect evidence and investigate causes of floods

• organising regular communication with landowners, communities, elected representatives and other stakeholders

• supporting property owners and communities to understand flood risk and take steps to become more resilient.

 

• to be educated to degree level or have equal experience in a relevant subject

• experience in using project management skills to plan, organise and monitor the delivery of your work

• excellent communication skills to engage and influence a range of stakeholders.

 

You will be based in the Flood and Water Management Team that acts as the Lead Local Flood Authority for Suffolk.  You will have the opportunity to regularly collaborate with the Environment Agency, water companies, local planning authorities, developers, the public, and elected representatives to reduce flood risk across Suffolk.

 

You will join dedicated staff from various Council services. We are passionate and experienced in creating a better environment for Suffolk's people.
