Job description

As we continue on our journey for excellence we are seeking to appoint a dynamic and inspiring Assistant Headteacher to lead Teaching, Learning and Curriculum Development.
Your role will be:

  • To provide professional leadership and management in the Academy.
  • Maintain some class teacher responsibilities.
  • To be accountable for high standards of teaching, learning and curriculum standards achieved across the Academy.
  • To contribute as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
  • To complete duties as well as other general responsibilities in the school as directed by the Headteacher.
  • The key priority for the post holder in the first year will be to develop the foundation curriculum assessment across all year groups in the Academy.

We are looking for:

  • A leader who can lead the development of teaching, learning and curriculum, who believes that the most vulnerable deserve the very best.
  • A skilled teacher who is able to model the craft of teaching to ensure consistency of curriculum delivery across the Academy.
  • Someone who is able to read the latest research and ensure the Churchend curriculum is at the forefront of educational thinking.
  • Someone who will lead by example and will embody our Academy values and vision.
  • Someone who believes in holistic, inclusive education for all children and their practice, ethos and approach to school life can shape the lives of our children.
     

The successful candidate will be a talented and hardworking individual who will innovatively lead in developing strategy for the future potential of the Academy at all levels.
They will have growing experience of school improvement and the drive and passion to deliver rapid improvement in our flourishing Academy.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate:

  • Excellent practice in Teaching and Learning.
  • An understanding of how to create and implement an effective, knowledge and skills rich curriculum.
  • How to be an outstanding role mode in leading and managing others.
  • The ability to accelerate progress through effective use of assessment and monitoring.
  • How to work with leaders to make a significant contribution to development and direction of school improvement.
  • A commitment to high standards across all areas of Academy.
  • A determination to maintain an inclusive education for all, including those with additional needs.
  • An understanding of rigorous school self-evaluation.
  • Plenty of energy and a good sense of humour.
  • The ability to develop positive relationships with children, parents, staff and support staff.
  • A creative and enthusiastic approach.
  • Be committed to their own continued professional development as well as the development of others.
