The Assistant Prevention Officer will be based at the George Street Service and will form part of a team delivering specialist interventions to assist vulnerable adults experiencing housing need or at risk of homelessness.
You will have the drive, energy and determination to work successfully with homeless people and assist them to successfully set up and maintain their tenancies whilst enabling them to engage with wider community-based support agencies.
You will have relevant experience of working in a service-based environment that deals with vulnerable individuals with an ability to work on your own initiative, meet challenging deadlines and manage your own workload.
It is essential you have experience of joint working with other agencies and departments, an ability to build positive working relationships with key stakeholders. Effective influencing and communication skills.
SNC level Qualification on Housing or equivalent, knowledge of relevant legislation and working knowledge of homelessness, housing options and social housing are desirable.
Normal hours of duty are 35 hours per week to be worked as directed between Monday to Sunday, the post holder may be required to work extended hours during evenings and weekends including attendance at meetings and conferences/seminars as required.
Please note that this post is temporary, subject to business needs and funding for 1 Year or until the requirement for the post ceases, whichever date is the earlier.
