Assistant Operator

Astute's Power team is partnering with an energy from waste power station which is operated by a leading O&M service provider. We are looking to recruit an Assistant Operations Technician to join the Operations Team.
The Assistant Operations Technician position comes with a starting salary of £35,000 + benefits and an opportunity to develop a career within the power industry.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Shift Team Leader you will:

• Ensure safe and efficient operation of all activities on site including high pressure boiler, gasification boiler, economizer and fuel gas treatment, turbine and generation. Together with auxiliary plant.
• Assist the shift team with monitoring the plant via the DCS in the control room, and adjusting in line with operational demands.
• Assist in the day-to-day compliance with all aspects of environmental permits, reporting any non-compliance or incidents.
• Carry out routine plant inspections and adjustments as well as collecting and recording plant data.
• Ensure you are following the health and safety procedures at all times.

Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:

• Apprentice trained in a relevant engineering discipline (qualifications below this may be acceptable if accompanied by suitable experience).
• Experience working on a heavy industrial site.
• Awareness of Safe Systems of work
• IOSH managing safely or similar HSE experience.
• Any mobile plant licenses would be beneficial.
• Full UK Driving licence
