Job description

The Assistant Phlebotomy Service Manager’s role is key to support the delivery and service development within the team. The post has clear delegated responsibilities from The Business Manager for Pathology Services to deliver the Trust vision and values.
Supporting the achievement of targets, financial and non-financial, securing compliance with all policies and processes within the department.
  • Support the Business Manager to manage projects within the Phlebotomy service.
  • On behalf of the Business Manager lead the daily running of all administrative functions for the Phlebotomy department
  • Support the Clinical Lead Practitioner with the creation and implementation of policies, processes, and the delivery of KPIs
  • Review and monitor ongoing reporting requirements
  • Support the Business Manager to ensure robust governance structure, training and development is in place
  • Line management of administration staff/Team Leader
  • Escalation of any concerns regarding the service to the Business Manager
  • To support the Clinical Lead Practitioner in the implementation of appraisals for all employees
