The Opportunity
Due to successful project expansion, an exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Planner to begin work on a huge Infrastructure Programme; a £1.6Bn programme of work comprising of new building facilities and refurbishment to support current and future operations on HMNB Clyde over the next 15 years. The programme of work is part of Government Major Programmes & Projects and is considered a top 100 government programme.
The role
As an Assistant Planner, you will be responsible for supporting Project Team in developing plans and programmes to manage, monitor and report on progress. Aiding the Project Planner and Planning Manager as required.
Estimated Duration:12 months
This role has been deemed inside of IR35
Your duties and responsibilities will be
  • To assist the planner in producing comprehensive programmes.
  • Will undertake any other programme related responsibilities as directed by the Planner/Senior Planner/Planning Manager.
  • To ensure Programme Quality is adhered to by carrying out quality checks.
  • Will undertake programme housekeeping tasks such as coding, calendar management and milestone reviews.
  • Assist in month end update and reporting.
  • May be required to undertake other tasks from time to time, deemed necessary to help support the programme/planning function.
You will have the following skills and experience
  • Experienced in the use of planning software, Ideally P6.
  • Experienced in planning i.e., has fulfilled planning roles on small/non-complex multidisciplinary contracts.
  • Experienced in the monthly update and management of programmes.
  • Able to communicate professionally and effectively with a variety of Stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated with drive and enthusiasm
  • Good commercial awareness.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office in particular; Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Able to gain Security Clearance.
It’s great if you also have the following
  • Educated to Diploma Level.
  • Experience of working within P6.
  • Experience of working on NEC Projects.
