Job description

Do you have experience of working with people from racially minoritised backgrounds to enhance mental health or well being? Are you passionate about addressing issues of racial inequality and improving health outcomes for people from under-represented communities? An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit an Assistant Psychologist to work specifically with these issues and take steps to increase racial equity in our Step Forward service in Liverpool. Under the supervision of a Clinical Psychologist, the role of the Assistant Psychologist will specifically focus on supporting Step Forward’s Widening Access agenda to improve mental health outcomes of people from minoritised ethnic groups. Experience of working with people of difference races, cultures and ethnicities would also be an advantage. We would expect you to make reference to this experience in your application. This is a community-based role which would require the successful applicant to be able and willing to regularly work into our minoritised communities within the Liverpool footprint, to help our service develop more effective relationships.
Principal Responsibilities:

To assist in the development of a psychological framework of understanding and care to all service users of the service, across all care settings.
To attend and contribute to appropriate multi-disciplinary meetings as directed by the qualified psychologists.
