Assistant Quantity Surveyor- Bristol

Our client is an established Tier 1 contractor with extensive operations in Ireland, UK, and Europe. Due to a full order book across all regions, our client is now looking for a dedicated Assistant Quantity Surveyor to assist in maintaining and maximizing the profitability of the projects, through timely requests for payment, minimizing cost including sub-contractor, agreement of variations, securing of payments at the appropriate time and accurate reporting.  

Key Responsibilities & Requirements:  

• Support the commercial team in preparing detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including tenders, variations/valuations, & final accounts. 

• Help in managing & maintaining site records, control documents & development on site. 

• Contribute to developing project budgets and cost plans under senior Quantity Surveyors' supervision.  

• Collaborate with project teams to track cost, monitor variances and identify cost- saving opportunities.  

• Assist Senior Quantity Surveyor with the preparation of reports.  

• Assist in conducting quantity takeoffs and measurements from drawings and specifications to determine the quantities materials, labor and equipment required for construction activities.  

• Participate in project meetings and contribute to discussions on cost management, procurement, and project progress.  

• Degree in Quantity Surveying.  

• Previous experience in Quantity Surveying roles.  

• Good understanding of commercial construction methods and best practices.  

• Strong negotiation, analytical skills, and attention to detail.  

• Proficiency in Quantity Surveying software and other relevant tools.  

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
