Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Full Time Assistant Quantity Surveyor position (Office hours: Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm, Friday 8am to 4pm)

We are looking for a forward thinking, organised, motivated individual to join our busy surveying department.

As a Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial success of construction projects. If you are detail-oriented, analytical, and have a strong understanding of construction processes, we encourage you to apply.

The role will involve Financial management of carpentry sub contracts in the residential & commercial sector. Including:

• Subcontractor Labour Payments
• External monthly valuations & monitoring of outstanding monies
• Ordering Materials
• Managing Variations
• Remeasurement of Works
• Tendering

Candidates must have the following experience and skills:

• Completed or due to complete - HNC/HND/Degree in a Quantity Surveying related course.
• Good computer literacy including Excel & cloud based contractor specific applications.
• Good communication & teamworking skills

Salary subject to experience.

Duties
- Prepare cost estimates and budgets for construction projects
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost analysis
- Perform quantity take-offs and prepare bills of quantities
- Evaluate tenders and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors
- Monitor project costs and provide regular cost reports to management
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend value engineering options
- Review and assess variations and change orders
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure cost control measures are implemented effectively

Role will be office based with visits to site as and when required.
