Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager

RASCOR UK Ltd has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic & ambitious candidate to join our friendly office team in London, UK. The role has responsibility for reporting on valuations, material spend and assisting the Head of Estimating & Surveying UK in preparing cost estimates etc.

RASCOR specialise in the design, manufacture and installation of structural waterproofing systems and have a number of international offices. Our new UK office in Slough is the regional hub for the UK where we are working on a number of high-profile projects with the largest building contractors in the UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand contractual obligations and any other undertakings to the client.

• Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents accurately and efficiently.

• Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best prices and terms for materials and services.

• Negotiate, as necessary, with clients and/or their representatives.

• Be responsible for submitting interim and final claims.

• Ensure close co-operation with our Contracting Team as regards assessment of progress, identification and evaluation of variations and additions to the original contract work.

• Ensure accurate valuations are issued promptly.

• Report in detail as required by the Head of Estimating & Surveying UK, on the financial status of a project.

• Provide project costings, margin & cash flow reports.

Person Specification:

· Excellent reporting, analytical and computer skills.

· Educated to Degree Level or equivalent.

· Experience in cost management.

· Must have excellent verbal and written communication & presentation skills.

· Be able to work on own initiative as well as part of our growing team.

· Strong understanding of the construction industry.

Salary:

£39k per annum
