A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ASSISTANT RESTAURANT MANAGER AT THE MUNICIPAL HOTEL LIVERPOOL

What you'll be doing...

As Assistant Restaurant Manager, you will manage the department to an optimum level, supporting the Restaurant Manager. Working closely with the Bar Manager, Director of FB and you will be committed to maintaining all targets financial and operational, with the emphasis on forward planning. You will ensure the highest quality of customer service in all areas. Ensuring training of the team is a priority. You will proactively drive HR, Cost Control, Sustainability and Health Safety initiatives throughout the department and hotel.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

To assist in managing the day to day operation within the Bar and function areas. To promote a hospitable and professional image to the guest and give full co-operation to any guest requiring assistance, with a prompt, caring and helpful attitude.

Other duties include;

  • Ensure service standards are maintained by being present on the floor at all peak times.
  • Anticipate guests’ needs wherever possible and promote hospitality within the hotel, enhancing guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure daily and weekly staff briefings within the team are happening. Keeping the team up to date about departmental, hotel and company activities through daily communications including financial feedback, customer feedback, Quality Reports; taking appropriate actions for improvement.
  • Maintain financial awareness and understanding of how the role impacts on the hotel’s profit and loss account and the company’s business as a whole, inclusive of payroll, productivity, stock, supplies, wastage and breakage reports.
  • To follow the recruitment procedure, induction, training and HR Policies for the department as directed by the HR Manager.
  • To identify market trends, needs, survey competition, participate in public relations and other promotional activities designed to enhance the image and profitability of the Hotel facilities.
  • To provide training to the team as required and to identify Brand and service training opportunities.
  • Communicate and share knowledge with other hotel departments, inclusive of BEOs and room set up requirements, planning and actioning these in advance of any event
  • Positively promote sales awareness within the department, be fully conversant with all menus and ensure that the team maximise sales opportunities.
  • Follow company control procedures in accordance with the internal audit requirements, HS requirements and licensing laws.
  • To work positively and collaboratively with all departments and team members.
