The successful applicant will be required to work 3 days per week on a rota basis (which willinclude Saturday working)
The main purpose of the role is to assist the Shop Manager to create a welcoming atmosphere in our shop and ensure that each customer has a positive shopping experience.
Reporting to the Shop Manager, the main responsibilities of this role are to:
- greet customers and assistthem where necessary
- accept, sort, price, store and display merchandise/donations
- ensure a high standard of presentation, display and pricing
- be responsible for processing payments and ensuring Gift Aid donations are recorded accurately
- promote Gift Aid to customers and sign-up donors to enhance shop income
- be responsible for opening and closing of the shop during trading hours
- supervise Volunteers and Sales Assistants
- ensure the store is kept clean and tidy
- attend appropriate training, as required
- any other duties that may be required by the Shop Manager.
Applicants must have:
Experience of cash handling
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent customer service and organisational skills
Excellent communication skills both written and oral
Flexibility, integrity and an understanding of confidentiality
It is desirable that the post-holder hasexperience within the retail sector. It is also desirable that the post-holder has supervisory experience.
What we can offer you:
Salary Scale £11.52 per hour
Hours: 21 hours – 9:00am – 5:00pm (3 days – on a rota basis between Monday and Saturday)
Permanent contract
Annual Leave: 26 days plus 12 Bank Holidays (pro rata for part-time)
