SalaryJoin our dynamic team as an Assistant Technician in highways and witness first hand how you can make a tangible impact on infrastructure development.
Salary: £24,294 to £29,777 per annum.
Location: Your office base will be JOBS depot which is located near Hickstead. A typical week will combine homeworking with attendance at the office or site visits. This is led by the needs of the service.
Contract: Permanent.
Working pattern: Full-time, 37 hours per week. Flexible working options available, to be agreed with your line manager.
Employer Pension Contribution: 20.70% this alters per annum on 01.04.
Annual leave: 25 days holiday + Bank holidays = 33 days.
As an Assistant Technician you will play a crucial part of the team supporting on:
- Site visits,
- Raising work orders,
- Liaising with customers and stakeholders,
- Providing information and analysis to support the team's work.
You will report to one of our experienced Area Highway Managers, with task management being provided by the Senior Highway Stewards or Senior Traffic Officers.
What we need from you:
- Ability to interpret complex information to produce a high-quality document with minimal guidance.
- Ability to organise, plan and meet set targets.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to organise and present information clearly
- Ability to work in a customer focused way.
- Demonstrable experience of working within office systems/practices.
- Experience of dealing with the general public.
- Computer literate.
- Full Driving Licence required as travel around county is required.
