Role Description
Would you like the opportunity to work in Insurance or move into a different type of Insurance Role? This role will allow you to do just that - as a member of the
Underwriting Services team , you will be providing and supporting a comprehensive range of governance processes across Commercial lines collaborating with other business functions, giving you the ability to learn and develop your knowledge of Underwriting and Governance, Documentation and Audit & Inspection activity.
In joining this team, you will play a pivotal role in providing assurances that the underwriting business operates effectively and in accordance with agreed rules and frameworks, as well as playing a part in improving the oversight processes and control frameworks.
This would be suited to someone who is looking to start a career in Insurance or looking to move into a different Insurance function which will allow them to build networks and foster collaboration across the various business functions, whilst keeping the customer at the heart of what we do.
Key Responsibilities
As an Underwriting Governance Specialist you will be involved in a wide range of activities, this will range from Technical documentation changes through to Underwriting governance activities over a set period of time. As the regulatory environment continues to evolve in line with Legal and Regulatory change, the role demands the ability to adapt and embrace new challenges, new ways of working and ensure new regulations are incorporated and adhered to.
You will work as part of a team that sits within the wider Allianz Commercial area so you will benefit from exposure to a wide variety of different functions, teams and individuals. Some of your responsibilities will include:
Working with other areas of the business to ensure that underwriting controls are in place and signed off by the correct business function which include but is not limited to
Managing documentation changesupdating underwriting and strategy guides,updating our Commercial Intranet pagescreating and updating authority documents,underwriting file review logging and follow upconduct risk logging and chasing
Deal with referrals on the internal underwriting framework and SanctionsSupporting the Technical Wording Framework and associated toolsEnsuring Underwriting Governance is appropriate, understood, embedded and adhered to across the underwriting disciple. Cascade changes into the business and support implementationWorking with the team to produce reports and MI for key stakeholders to provide insight on the various Underwriting Governance topicsWorking collaborative with the wider business to provide support and advice on Underwriting GovernanceAd hoc Project work.Creating a strong internal network and use influence to bring about business change, as well as supporting any projects and change programmes
About You
This role would suit someone who is looking to move into a role within the Insurance Sector or someone who has a background in either underwriting or operations and who is looking for a role with a difference and looking to develop your insurance career, full training and support will be providedWillingness to learn and developUnderwriting/Governance/Compliance knowledge or background - not essentialEffective communicator, ability to build Strong relationships at all levels and the ability to work as part of a teamStrong attention to detail and high level of accuracyExperience of managing multiple tasks with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, work under pressure to meet deadlines, be proactive and able to manage and prioritise your own workloads.Ability to adapt to changes and embrace new challengesPC literate with a good knowledge of Word and Excel and other Microsoft O365 packages
