Assistant Yard Manager
Full Time Permanent
Monday – Friday – 8.30am-5.30pm
£25,000-£26,000
Location - Outskirts of St Neots
My client, located on the outskirts of St Neots, is looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking Assistant Yard Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Yard Manager in the day-to-day operations of the yard, as well as managing yard operatives in a busy and friendly environment.
The primary responsibilities of this role include:
- Providing support and assistance to the Yard manager in carrying out their daily duties.
- Ensuring that team members are aware of their daily responsibilities and are supported throughout the day.
- Conducting daily and monthly stock checks to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Picking and packing items as required.
- Distributing customer orders in a timely and efficient manner.
- Identifying potential hazards and maintaining a safe working environment for all staff.
- Introducing and implementing new working practices to enhance operational efficiency.
We are looking for an ideal candidate who has the following qualifications:
- An up-to-date forklift licence
- Previous experience working in a busy yard or warehouse
- Comfortable with lifting and carrying heavy goods in accordance with manual handling and the company's health and safety procedures
- Able to engage with team members positively and delegate tasks effectively to ensure that all jobs are completed promptly
- Proficient in using computers and comfortable with MS Office.
