Job description

About the role

This is a Fixed-Term post until March 2025

Northamptonshire Youth Offending Service (NYOS) is a successful partnership organisation working to prevent offending by children and young people, whilst helping to resolve offences for victims and protecting the public within your community.

Working across the county and in partnership with the Police and Courts we aim to assess and address the issues facing our young people and wherever possible avoid them becoming involved in further offending.

What will you be doing?

You will complete assessments, deliver interventions, signpost to other services, and broker arrangements and ensure that, wherever possible, restorative justice processes have been used for the benefit of all parties, and the young person has access to the services required to meet their needs in the future.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly effective service. We are looking for creative, persistent, and extremely motivated people to work across the county with young people, their families, victims and volunteers to address the issues that have brought the young people to the attention of the criminal justice system and repair the harm caused through their behaviour.

About you

Educated to at least A level standard, you will have some experience of working with children and young people, the ability to engage positively with them, their parents/carers, the victims of their offences and colleagues in other agencies.

If you can meet these challenges, we’d love to meet you.

This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

For informal enquiries or a discussion about the job, please contact Liz Fowler - Area Manager on 07912774863.

Our benefits

We are committed to continuous improvement, building a skilled, knowledgeable, and flexible workforce alongside promoting innovation and creativity whilst keeping children, young people and families at the heart of all we do.

We really value our workforce and offer you a great benefits package including:

  • Extensive Learning & Development and career development opportunities
  • Flexible and family working arrangements including enhanced maternity benefits
  • A permanent, supportive and inclusive management team where you will be empowered to make good professional decisions

  • Employee Discount Scheme
  • 28 days’ annual leave, plus 8 Bank Holidays (pro rata for part time) and an additional 5 days, after 5 years’ service
  • Opportunity to purchase up to 25 days
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Monthly quality supervision

About us
