Assistant/Graduate Fashion Designer

The Company:

Our client is an established company designing Ladies and Mens Fashion supplying the Boohoo Group of Brands. They are looking for an Assistant / Graduate Designer to join their team, the ideal candidate will have strong CAD, print and graphic skills and be eager to learn and develop, under the guidance of a s Senior Designer. 

The Role:

• Supporting the Senior Designer.
• Extensive market research, catwalk reports and comp shops.
• Keeping up to date with fashion trends including colours and shapes.
• Working on customer design briefs.
• Delivering products on budget.
• Manipulating artwork files from pdfs
• Be commercially aware of current trends and themes.
• Demonstrate a good commercial understanding of the high street customer the product is for.
• Working closely with the design team with trend, colour, shape, graphic and fabric direction.
• Working with/ meeting buyers to develop new products.
• Working with Merchandising team to ensure all products are designed in line with the Critical Path.
• Working closely with overseas factories and building up good relationships.
• Processing samples as they come into the office.
• Supporting the design team with day-to-day administration.
• Other duties as required.

Skills Required:

• Fashion Design Graduate (or similar).
• Have strong CAD skills (Photoshop & Illustrator).
• Be passionate about design.
• Experience in researching & forecasting trends.
• Having a good commercial eye is essential to the role.
• Good written and verbal communication across all levels.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
