Job description

Strategic To design, implement and oversee the delivery of the Trust Patient Experience, Involvement and Engagement Strategy to achieve the Trusts objectives to put the patient at the heart of everything we do. To identify, adapt and bring examples of best practice in patient and public engagement from other NHS and non-NHS organisations. To align priorities and approach with the WWL Strategy To develop, lead and manage local strategies and action plans that are inclusive and are representative of the local communities. To play a lead role in establishing and working with user and carer-led organisational networks to foster partnership working with community groups and voluntary To lead on the delivery, reporting and development of action plans following national and local survey publications. To lead on the transformation of voluntary services within To lead on the Patient and Public Engagement Meeting To lead on improving the responsiveness to all complaints, and in improvements with demonstrating the Trust values within complaints responses. To lead on supporting the Trust in the delivery of patient led service redesign via patient engagement and lived Patient Experience in order to drive improvement To lead on the Trust Wide Accreditation Process to assist in the CQC journey to Outstanding including the development of metrics to promote excellence and improvement across Maternity, Community Services, ED, Outpatients and Theatres To develop and oversee the management of the accreditation process across all sites and clinical areas within the Trust Leadership and Management To provide leadership and day to day line management to the PPE and Quality To work closely with the Trust Communications Team and oversee all stakeholder engagement, with particular emphasis on patient and public engagement and To provide advice and support to clinical divisions to develop a programme of local patient surveys and audits of patients views to inform and shape practice and To support Executive Directors, Divisional Management Teams, Senior Managers and Clinicians in the development of robust operational plans, service plans and business cases for investment in their areas with a focus on the patients voice and To support clinical divisions with the development of quality improvement plans that provide assurance of embedded change across the Trust To represent the Chief Nurse on a range of internal and external events relating to the portfolio To develop and present reports based on complex, real-time and national Patient Experience feedback, and work in close collaboration with the Deputy Chief Nurses to combine this information with nursing metrics. To prepare and present assurance papers on behalf of the Chief Nurse for Board and sub-Board Committees Planning and Organisational Duties To promote an operating framework across the Trust that supports compassion, communication, teamwork, respect, professionalism, and inclusion in accordance with the Trust values To take a lead on the development and implementation of the audit programme to support the full implementation and embedding of the Perfect Ward across all areas of the Trust To take the lead on the review and relaunch of the Trust accreditation programme, providing reports that demonstrate accreditation status and quality improvements from ward to Board To work collaboratively with colleagues across health and social care to develop effective multi-agency working and to drive system wide improvements in Patient Experience and outcomes To disseminate the results of national annual patient surveys and ongoing patient/user engagement to a wide variety of managerial, clerical and technical staff by a variety of methods including formal and informal presentations. To support the development of SMART action plans and oversee delivery and outcomes of improvement work. Communications and Key Working Relationships Work in close partnership with the Chief Nurse in the delivery of a high-quality Patient Experience and the development of improvement plans that place Patient Experience at the heart of what the Trusts activity. Work in close liaison with PPE leads across the health economy to ensure the inclusion of patients and the public in service redesign Work in close partnership with the clinical divisions in the delivery of the Trust Accreditation Programme and the Perfect Ward Deputise for the Chief Nurse/Deputy Chief Nurse as appropriate Develop a network of accreditation leads across GM to support sharing and standardisation of practice.
