We are currently seeking an Associate, Credit Algo Research Quant to join the team in London.

The role holder will also ensure the HSBC values are present in everything they do, both individually and as an organisation. The Financial Engineer or Quant is responsible for modelling, quantitative analysis, and the development of specialised computer programs on the electronic Credit activities of Global Markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Creates and develops computer programs with high added value (pricers, automatons, simulation and statistics) and ensures their monitoring in production.
  • Develops product hedging methods, designs asset evaluation and risk measurement tools.
  • Respects the internal rules put in place by the FI ETOC committee concerning machines and algorithmic trading.
  • Actively and regularly participates in work meetings, and provides permanent technical support to market operators.
  • Respect the “three lines of defense” structure adopted by the Group as part of operational risk management and internal controls.
  • Ensures that, by acting on their own behalf and on behalf of their organisation, treats clients fairly and honestly. To do this, they must respect the culture and Values of HSBC as well as the risk policies and procedures by referring to the Global Principles and Global Policies and Procedures.
  • Respects anti-money laundering and anti-terrorism financing policies, sanctions policies and anti-corruption rules with our clients and Third Parties (Associated Persons).
  • Keeps informed of regulatory, legal and tax developments applicable to its scope.
  • Hierarchical relationships: Global Head of Debt Algo Trading & Quants.
  • Functional relationships: Traders, Sellers, QRVG, Traded Risk, BM/COO, Compliance, Legal, CCO, OR, IT, HR, Product Control, Audit (internal & external).
Requirements
  • Background in Economics and Financial Mechanisms, mastery of financial products.
  • Proven working knowledge in financial IT supports (Bloomberg, Reuters), as well as office automation (MS Office).
  • Programming in Python, Java, C++ or similar.
  • Strong interaction skills and proven communication capabilities.
  • Sound experience in market regulatory requirements for trading and sales activities.

The location for this role is London.
