The Company

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a large and leading multi-disciplinary consultancy on the hire of an Associate Town Planner to their team in Birmingham.

As an Associate Town Planner you will work on a broad range of planning projects, using your local knowledge and national influence to plan and deliver projects of all types and scales. The team provides invaluable advice to their clients, and projects range from residential, mixed-use, commercial, industrial and employment through development plan promotion and planning applications and appeals.

Duties:

• Promoting large to medium scale residential, mixed-use, employment and other developments (both brownfield and greenfield) through the Local Development Framework and then by coordinating subsequent planning applications
• Conducting research and site appraisals on projects for our client base
• Preparation, submission, and negotiation of planning applications of all sizes/types.
• Preparation of planning and Statements of Community Engagement
• Lodging appeals and potentially appearing at Informal Hearings
• Develop client relationships and generating work
• Co-ordination of internal and external project teams and project management of schemes

Qualifications & Experience

• An RTPI accredited degree or Masters in a related discipline
• Chartered Town Planner
• Will have spent considerable time working in the planning industry, in the private or public sector and experience of directly managing staff or leading a team.
