Chichester College have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Associate Lecturer in Computing at our Crawley campus. You will join us on a part time, permanent basis and in return, we will offer a competitive salary of £22.14 - £34.55 per hour.

The Associate Lecturer in Computing role:

Are you a Computing expert wanting to share your experience and expertise with engaged students at an Outstanding College? Crawley College is recruiting for inspiring Associate Lecturers to join our new Institute of Technology (IoTs) on flexible bank contracts.

The IoTs are exciting collaborations between Further Education providers, Universities and employers. They specialise in delivering higher technical education (at Levels 4 and 5) with the aim of the IoT to address local and regional skills shortages at levels 4 & 5 in STEM subjects, and widen participation into Higher Education.

Key Responsibilities of ourAssociate Lecturer in Computing:

  • Undertaking teaching and learning related activities, including tutoring, as agreed.
  • Ensuring that appropriate learning materials are prepared and assessments and assignments are undertaken in a timely manner.
  • Undertaking administration and provide reports and statistics regarding student and teaching matters in a timely manner.
  • Delivering best practice in curricula and learning activities, taking into consideration links with employers and work-related activities.
  • Understanding personal responsibilities in relation to Safeguarding.
  • To prepare, implement and monitor individual education plans so that a young person’s needs are met.
  • Assisting in the development of teaching materials ensuring quality and consistency of approach.
  • Completing all documentation as required to meet the needs of the Company and relevant external bodies.
  • Managing the teaching environment ensuring security of equipment and that health and safety requirements are met.
  • Liaising with staff and external organisations, as appropriate.

Our ideal Associate Lecturer in Computing should have the below skills and experience:

  • GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade C or above
  • Degree or subsequent level of expertise in the area of Computing.
  • Experience working in a Further Education or educational establishment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook and primarily Excel
