We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are starting out in their Social Worker careers and are keen to learn and develop in a supportive environment. Salford Children’s Services has been rated good by Ofsted and we are a fantastic place to work!
There are a whole range of resources and teams who will be able to support families. You will be guaranteed a thorough bespoke induction, training and support plan. We know how to support our Social Workers and there are lots of opportunities to develop your career within Salford.
We are looking to recruit excellent strength-based and relational Social Workers. You will have a desire to support children and families to achieve positive impact for them. You will be committed to learning, developing and delivering consistently good social work practice.

- A bespoke induction based on your experience and development needs. We recognise that Newly Qualified Social Workers will each start at different stages of their professional journey and will need different forms of support to enable them to develop their professional capability, confidence and portfolio.
- A friendly supportive working environment with managers who care.
- Regular wellbeing activities.
- High quality mentoring and supervision. Mentors and coordinators will offer reflective supervision, a specialized training plan and practical help and advice.
- Intensive support and training package which includes workshops, presentations, interactive training sessions, shadowing opportunities and regular reflective sessions specifically selected and designed to develop your skills and knowledge.
- You will have an identified mainstream social work team when you start but you will retain the support and development opportunities available for the whole ASYE programme.
- Your caseloads will be carefully selected and managed to allow you to apply your learning and progress in developmental areas which have been identified specifically for you.
