Job Title: Audio Typist

Shift Pattern: Monday- Friday 9am-5pm

Pay: £11.24 per hour

Location: Clatterbridge Hospital, Clatterbridge Road, Bebington, Wirral CH63 4JY

About the Trust

Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is the thriving heart of the local community. Comprising Wirral's only Emergency Department, it is one of the biggest and busiest acute NHS trusts in the North West. Providing a comprehensive range of high-quality acute care services, serving a population of about 400,000 people across Wirral, Ellesmere Port, Neston, North Wales, and the wider North West footprint. Based in 4 locations Arrowe Park Hospital, Clatterbridge Hospital, and Wirral Women and Children's Hospital.

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Responsible for the production of discharge summaries, clinical papers and material for publication from either audio or copy typing.
  • Use judgement and initiative to prioritise the importance/urgency of particular requests within defined guidelines
  • Undertake daily peer audit of clinical correspondence to ensure a high standard of accuracy and quality of work.
  • Ability to exchange sensitive or contentious information with diplomacy and in a confidential manner.
  • Liaising with outpatient administrator re. Appointments and necessary important clinical information to ensure patients are seen on their pathway without delay.

You'll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

  1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
  2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
  3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

You'll have the following skills/experience:

  • Excellent communication skills- both verbal and written
  • Microsoft office skills- Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Previous admin experience
  • Audio Typing experience
  • Previous NHS experinece
  • NHS System Knowledge
