This post is covered by the Childcare Disqualification Regulations 2018.

The school will need to ensure that they are not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the 2018 Regulations in connection with relevant childcare provision.  Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate to the school, by completing a self-declaration form as part of the pre-employment checks process, that they have not been disqualified under the 2018 Regulations.

If the preferred candidate is found to be disqualified under the 2018 Regulations, the offer of employment will be subject to the application by the preferred candidate to Ofsted for a waiver and the receipt of a waiver from Ofsted.

This is a unique opportunity to work with staff to enable them to successfully meet the needs of pupils with ASD across five schools in the Chailey Alliance.

We are looking to appoint one candidate to work across five schools – spending 1 day a week at each of these schools: Barcombe CE Primary School, Hamsey CE Primary School, Plumpton CE Primary School, Danehill CE Primary School and Wivelsfield Primary School.

The role will consist of working in these ways – through team teaching; observing staff and offering development points; observing pupils and offering strategies to support them, working with individual and small groups of pupils and leading professional development for staff.

The ASD Advisory teacher will work closely with the SENCOs at each school and also with the ASD Advisory teacher currently in post and working across the other five schools in the Chailey Cluster.

We are looking for:

  • Experience of working with pupils with autism – either in specialist or mainstream settings who are excellent communicators and passionate about inclusion
  • A passionate staff member who is able to inspire and motivate in order to improve standards and outcomes for our amazing children
  • A reflective staff member who is eager to work as part of a happy and successful team
  • Committed to promoting a positive image of the schools in all that they do

We can offer:

  • Delightful, enthusiastic children
  • A dedicated team of staff and forward-thinking governors
  • A leadership team that values people – including  children – and wants teachers to enjoy and be fulfilled by their teaching and their engagement with pupils

This is a wonderful opportunity to take on a new role and be part of developing best practice in this area. There will be the opportunity for professional development and close working with CLASS.

Gemma White, the Executive Headteacher at the Bluebell Federation is leading this recruitment so please contact her at exechead@bluebellfederation.co.uk to discuss the role further or arrange a meeting.
