Job description

Job overview
Do you have the specialist knowledge we need to support our secure care providers and wider system partners to meet the needs of autistic people with and without a learning disability? We are looking for an experienced, skilled and passionate individual to provide expert training, advice and guidance to support best practice and innovation.
The role is a developmental post; while providing direct support to our commissioned services it will also have a remit to identify the future requirements to ensure an inclusive secure service for autistic people.
Funding is available to 31.3.26, by which time our ambition is that the post will be self-funding via reduced admissions and lengths of stay.
The post holder will be based within the Kent, Surrey and Sussex region - flexibility of working arrangements will be considered on an individual basis. The post will involve frequent travel regionally and potentially nationally.
Main duties of the job
To support the Provider Collaborative in developing high quality, effective and clinically safe system pathways for autistic people, with and without a learning disability.
To provide expert advice and guidance to the delivery of care and treatment for autistic people and to influence, support and guide best practice across the Provider Collaborative through consultation, training, and the establishment and delivery of a Community of Practice alongside autistic Experts by Experience.
To work with partners to identify, understand and address gaps in provision which impact on the delivery of services to autistic people.
Working for our organisation
The NHS Long Term Plan sets out a vision for greater local system integration and autonomy.
The Kent, Surrey and Sussex Adult Secure Provider Collaborative is financially and clinically responsible for the patient population in our geography. It spans a number of ICSs, and is able to pool financial risk across the partnership, allowing funding flexibility to make savings and reinvest in community, to improve the whole pathway and reduce reliance on the most specialised, and restrictive, services.
Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is the lead provider in a collaborative that spans Surrey, Sussex and Kent.
We encourage flexible working. We know that a positive work/ life balance brings about huge health-related benefits, which has a positive impact on the care we provide. Please speak to us about flexible working, for example, home-working, flexible start/ finish times or anything else. If it works for you and works for the role, we'll do our best to make it happen.
